July is Disability Pride Month.  It is in recognition of the American with Disabilities Act passed in July 1990 and a celebration of the unique contribution of people with disabilities, a recognition of their continued struggles, and a focus on increased compassion, sensitivity, and inclusiveness.

St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 200 W. St. Paul St. Brighton, has three events planned beginning in May to celebrate Disability Pride.  The first two, an art gallery opening and Disability Pride service,  take place at the church, and the last event a free screening of the movie Wonder will take place at the Historic Howell Theater Saturday July 6 at 7pm. Doors open at 6pm.   The movie has themes of acceptance, compassion, and discovering one's wonderful uniqueness.
